Willy was a senior Pintupi man who was entitled to paint the secret and sacred Tingari Cycle, and was one of the most sought after artists of the Western Desert. Willy was the middle of three brothers who were all artists, with Yala Yala Gibbs, who was the oldest and a fouding member of the Papunya art movement, while George Ward Tjungurrayi was the youngest.
