Kathleen Petyarre - Mountain devil dreams 1

Kathleen began painting in the mid 1980’s and within a decade she was seen as an important artist, even being compared to Jackson Pollock for her influence on the art world at the time. Her best known works are of Thorny Devil dreamings, where a canvas appears to be divided into four quarters, and is infilled with very fine dots, to show the sandhills and the path of the small lizard, the thorny devil.
